Great Plant Picks

Tour the Master Gardener bed that showcases Great Plant Picks (GPP). Learn about this educational program from the Elisabeth C. Miller Botanical Garden of Seattle. This program started in 2001 recommends outstanding plants for the maritime Pacific Northwest.

Annual Plant Sale & Raffle

Summer Pruning Workshop
Saturday, June 17, 2017, 10AM-4PM


Come to this 6 hour, hands on summer workshop and learn proper summer pruning techniques. We will discuss basic rules of pruning and concentrating on two major categories -pruning of spring blooming shrubs including Rhododendrons and Azaleas and thinning of trees for summer health and lasting beauty. Cost is $20

Kids' Nature Camp, ages 8-10
Monday-Thursday, June 26-29, 2017, 10AM-Noon


Discover what plants need to grow and be healthy. Each day we will learn  through nature games, art and science activities about the four basic needs of plants: Sun, Soil, Water and Air. RSVP: 425-257-8597. Ages 8-10, space limited. $35 per child for member families. $70 per child for non member families

Hydrangeas for Summer Color

Come and learn all about Hydrangeas and how to incorporate them into your landscape. We will discuss some of the latest and greatest varieties on the market and how to care for these NW garden staple shrubs. We will visit some of the old beauties in the Arboretum gardens and see samples of new exciting varieties for home gardeners.

Family Fun Event

Shade Gardening

Not all plants need or want to grow in full sun. In fact, some prefer the shade. Come learn about these plants that thrive in the shade and their needs.  Informational handouts will be available on plants that require full, partial and dappled shade as well as dry and wet shade. Tour the newly planted areas of our Arboretum shade garden to gather ideas for your own garden.

BulbFest

Family Fun Event. Help us plant hundreds of spring flowering bulbs in the Arboretum and in return take a bag of bulbs home to plant in your own garden. Tools, bulbs and snacks provided. All ages encouraged to participate.

Putting Your Garden to Bed

Conifers for Year-Round Interest
Saturday, November 18, 2017, Noon-1PM

This class is not just about pine trees. We will learn about all those cone-producing plants that add year round interest in the garden with their color, shape and size. The class will cover planting care and selecting the right plant for the right place, including containers. We will also view some of the newest introductions in the Arboretum. RSVP: 425-257-8597. Holiday Workshop for Kids
