Upcoming Arboretum Classes


One bonus of yearly membership in the Evergreen Arboretum is our engaging, informative classes. While available to the public for a fee, classes are free for members! You can JOIN right here on our website.

Many of our classes are held in the Arboretum itself, like our pruning classes, while others are held in the Arboretum Portable to the left of the entrance. They are very popular, so pre-registration is required. Class times vary, but the joy of gardening is a given!

Just how far will plants and their pollinators go to sustain the life cycle and perpetuate the species? Find out who the players are: helpful pollinators that provide the fruits of our growing labors in the garden and the 30% of those plants that feed all of us. From 10AM-Noon volunteers help us garden in the arboretum and from Noon-1PM you can take a docent-guided tour!

EGG SCRAMBLE - Family Fun Event Series

Come celebrate Earth Day and new life! Scramble through the grass in the arboretum to find colorful eggs filled with seeds then plant them with dirt in the shell and take them home in an egg carton! ANNUAL PLANT SALE & RAFFLE

Best sale of the season on starts and mature plants! Our raffle has several prizes to win too. This is a can't miss sale, held one week after the City of Everett's Sorticulture weekend. Held on the tennis court at Legion Park.



SUMMER PRUNING CLASS

Learn proper summer pruning techniques at this hands-on workshop. Discuss basic rules of pruning,concentrating on two major categories pruning of spring blooming shrubs, (rhododendrons& azaleas) and thinning of trees for summer health and lasting beauty.Bring pruners. Come learn about temperate ferns in this two hour class from the award winning owner of Fancy Fronds Nursery, Judith Jones.  She will do a one hour classroom presentation followed by a hands-on planting demonstration in our Woodland Shade Garden. DWARF CONIFERS FOR THE GARDEN

Robert Fincham will instruct about conifers that stay reliably dwarf and are suitable for the smaller garden. These evergreens come in a wide range of colors, shapes, and growth rates.  The author will also have his conifer books for sale at this class. BULB-FEST A Family Fun Event!
