This year’s SummerFest promises to be the best yet as families and the groups who serve youth come together for some outdoor, mid-summer fun in the Evergreen Arboretum. Spend the afternoon listening to music, playing games, arm painting, making art, learning about bugs and birds and going on a scavenger hunt in the gardens.
Here is the list of participating groups and the activities they are planning:
Marco Cortes: Bi-lingual guitarist for children
Master Gardeners of Sno Cty: Bug Exploration activity
Imagine Children's Museum: Art activity
Girl Scout Troop #44342: Rock Painting activity
Tail Waggin’ Tutors: Reading to Trista, the Therapy Dog
Everett Garden Club: Seed planting activity
Pilchuck Audubon Society: Educational activity about birds
Vickie Stoke's Art Studio: Fun art activity
YMCA: Face and/or arm painting and a bean-toss game
Dawson Place: Child appropriate activity
Everett Public Library: Activity and Book Walk
In addition to groups participating on-site, Arboretum volunteers will have free items for families to take home. Sunnyside Nursery is providing free plants and Bartlett Tree Service has free coloring books to hand out. The Evergreen Arboretum has designed pictorial and written scavenger hunts too.
We appreciate and acknowledge the generous support for the Evergreen Arboretum’s Family Fun Event series by Lamoureux Real Estate and Sunnyside Nursery.
