Come play in the dirt with us!
Thank you volunteers - you are the life-blood of the Evergreen Arboretum. We have many ways to volunteer, from leading docent tours, teaching a gardening class, serving on our board, helping staff events, or just plain getting dirty on gardening and repotting days.
It's all great fun and you make wonderful friends. You might even learn something. When you volunteer you are automatically entered into a monthly drawing for various perks too!
To receive more information, call our Voice Mail line at (425) 257-8597 or register online. Either way someone will contact you with information about all of our volunteer opportunities.

Are you an active and up-to-date Sno-Isle Food Co-op owner? When you volunteer with us, you get additional rewards! Co-op households, regardless of number of members or age, who volunteer for five or more hours per month at the Arboretum receive a coupon for 15% off one shopping trip the following month. Ten or more hours per month get one additional coupon, for a maximum of two discounted shopping trips per month.
Volunteer Work Days
The best way to learn when we are gathering is to add your email to our volunteer list below.
Volunteer gardening days are regularly held March through November, 10 AM to noon on the first Wednesday and third Saturday of the month, with a few exceptions. Volunteers sign in at the horticulture classroom to be directed to the day’s projects. Bring your own water bottle, gloves, and any personal small tools that you prefer to use. The arboretum will furnish large tools such as rakes and shovels. Dress for the weather.
Wintertide Lights volunteer work parties are typically every Wednesday and Saturday from 10 AM to Noon in November, with additional days as weather dictates.
Plant Sale Repotting is every Thursday from March to mid-June, 9:30 to 11:30 AM. Additional Repotting Days in fall as determined.
