Color Storm 2025

March 1-31

A yarn bombing event in Evergreen Arboretum

Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens is about to undergo a vibrant transformation as it plays host to "Color Storm," an exhilarating yarn bombing event set to inject color and creativity throughout the landscape. This event was first offered in 2024 and is organized by Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens and Great Yarns of Everett.

Yarn bombing, the art of adorning public spaces with knitted or crocheted yarn creations, will take center stage as local artists and enthusiasts unite. Tree trunks are the canvas for this unique form of artistic expression, and yarn pom poms will hang from limbs. After the event all yarns will be recycled.

Color Storm is not just about brightening up the landscape near winter’s end; it's also an opportunity for local knitters and crocheters to showcase their talents and foster a sense of community spirit. Participants have been crafting intricate yarn installations, each one destined to evoke delight.

Throughout the month of March, visitors are encouraged to snap photos to share their impressions on social media with friends. The Arboretum is free to visit and open from dawn to dusk every day. Color Storm promises to be a feast for the senses, inviting visitors to see Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens in a whole new light.
