Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens will undergo a transformation as it plays host to "Color Storm" in March of 2025, a month-long yarn bombing event set to inject bursts of color and creativity throughout the landscape. This event, now in its second year is organized by Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens and Great Yarns of Everett promises to captivate visitors.
Yarn bombing, the art of adorning public spaces with knitted or crocheted yarn creations, will take center stage as local artists and enthusiasts unite to weave a tapestry of imagination within the lush confines of Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens. Tree trunks will will serve as a canvas for this unique form of artistic expression, and yarn pom poms will hang from limbs. And after the event all yarn will be recycled.
Color Storm is not just about brightening up the landscape; it's also an opportunity for local knitters and crocheters to showcase their talents and foster a sense of community spirit. Participants have been diligently crafting intricate yarn installations, each one destined to evoke wonder and delight among visitors.
Throughout the month of March, visitors are encouraged to immerse themselves fully in the experience, snapping photos, sharing their impressions on social media with friends. The Arboretum is free to visit and open from dawn to dusk every day.
