This talk will offer practical solutions for selecting and placing companion plants that will thrive without compromising the roots and health of trees. Adapting the landscape to changing light and space conditions as trees grow larger, plant selection, irrigation and the conundrum of combining trees and turf will be discussed.
Christina Pfeiffer has enjoyed a career in landscape horticulture spanning over 40 years. She brings her experience and lessons from her past position at Washington Park Arboretum, years working as a consultant, and gardening under her own large tree to her discussion with us today. Christina holds degrees in horticulture from Michigan State and the University of Washington and is an ISA Certified Arborist. She is author, with Mary Robson, of “Pacific Northwest Month-by-Month Gardening”.
